Volume containing the two works of the great Gaon Rabbi Akiva Eiger. The first section – Shut Rabbi Akiva Eiger. The second section – Drush Vechidush Rabbi Akiva Eiger. novellae om the Shas and Drushim. 

In this copy, unlike most copies, the place of printing, printer’s name and year of printing were omitted from the title pages of both sections, replaced by: "כמ"ש בווארשא"  (as printed in Warsaw) – printed in Stettin, 1860. 199, 113 leaves. An open tear to the lower edge of the title page and following leaf. Detached binding. Ancient leather spine. Stains. Detached sheets. Good overall condition. 

On the title pages, stamps: "מספרי עזבון הרה"ג רבי יצחק איצק בהרה"ג ר’ מנחם נתן נטע זצ"ל אויערבאך". On the first title page, two handwritten signatures with this name (see below). Inside the book, several lengthy and significant glosses handwritten by him – see pictures. 

Rabbi Yitzchak [Itzak] Auerbach (1877-1941) the son of the Gaon Rabbi Menachem Natan Auerbach who was one of the founders of the Chief Rabbinate, author of Orach ne’eman on Shulchan Aruch. Rabbi Yitzchak was one of the rabbis of Jerusalem and one of the leaders of the Etz Chaim Yeshiva. The son-in-law of the Tzaddik of Warsaw, Rabbi Chaim Yaakov Naftali Zilberberg.
