Letter with many expressions of modesty handwritten and signed by the Gaon Chassid Rabbi Shabtai Lifshitz Moreh Tzedek of Orshiva, addressed to Rabbi Avraham Broda Av Beit Din of Narod – Julnitza, 1905.

In his letter, Rabbeinu thanks Rabbi Broda for his consistent support and blesses him, in poetic language, with warm blessings: "ואנכי לא איש דברים, רק זה אומר, מדוע מצאתי חן בעיניו להכיריני ואנכי איש נכרי, וכ"פ…

The addressee’s name, Avraham Broda, is apparently a mistake and he is actually referring to Rabbi Chaim Brody Av beit Din of nachod (and eventually Av Beit Din of Prague), who managed an elaborate system of support of rabbis and Torah learners.

Double sheet, 17X21 cm.
