Sefer Pirkei DeRabbi Eliezer, with an elucidation titled Bayit Hagadol … by Rabbi Avraham Aharon ben Rabbi Shalom. Printed in Lemberg, 1870. After the Lviv, 1867 edition. [56] leaves. 23 cm. Fine new binding. Moth perforations and stains. Some restorations. Some blemishes to text. Good overall condition. Has not been studied on a leaf-by-leaf basis. 

On the title page, the handwritten signature of Rabbi Moshe of Berditchev and on the last leaf, the handwritten signature of his son Rabbi Zvi Halevi ben Rabbi Moshe Rosenstein. 

The holy Rav Rabbi Moshe Meir Halevi Rosenstein of Berditchev (1821-1902) Rabbi Mosheleh Berditchover, the son of Rabbi Mordechai who was a Chassid of the holy Rav of Opatow. A leading disciple of the Saba Kaddisha of Ruzhin and his son, the Admor Hazaken of Sadigura and the Admor the Pachad Yitzchak of Boyan. In 1853, immigrated to Safed. His Divrei Torah and Sipurei Tzaddikim were published recently in Avodat Haleviyim – Or Haganuz, where his biography also appears.

Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Halevi Rosenstein (1840-1913) Rabbi Herscheleh Berditchover, Rabbi Mosheleh’s son. In 1865, immigrated to Safed, following in his father’s footsteps, and became one of the leaders of its community. He is buried in Tiberius. His only son, Rabbi Yosef Dov, was killed in Lag BaOmer in Meron, during the Hillula of 1911, when a balcony collapsed. He was buried near Rashbi’s grave.
