Special, rare booklet that was published by the students of the Mir Yeshiva in Shanghai, during their exile there in the years of the Holocaust. Booklet I was published in 1944, the editors hoping it would be published regularly. This second booklet, however, was published only two years later in 1946 and after it, the exiles immigrated to Israel and the USA and no other booklets were published, as noted at the end of the booklet: לצאתנו את העיר. עם סגירת החוברת הנוכחית מסתיימת גם תקופה מיוחדה בחיי קהל תופשי התורה אשר בשנגהאי. חלק הגון מהם עברו לקנדה ואמריקה, והשאר עומדים הכן לצאת את העיר…". At the beginning of the booklet, Torah novellae by the Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Zeev Soloveitchik – the Rav of Brisk. It is stated that more of his Torah novellae will be published in following booklets. In addition, the editors write that they had begun purchasing Torah novellae appearing in manuscripts by Gedolei Yisrael who perished in the Holocaust and they too were supposed to be published in following booklets.
