First and rare edition on Sefer Shenot Chaim and Sefer Stam by the great Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Kluger Av Beit Din of Lemberg. "Which is the first section (Mahadura Tanyana) on Sefer Hachaim and some Chidushei Dinim and the second section Sefer Stam on Dinei Sefer Torah and Tefillin and Mezuzot". First edition Lemberg 1855-1856. Section I: [1], 9, [10], 2-62, 65-102 [the last leaf is mispaginated as 97]. Section II: [9], 86 leaves. 39 cm. Some tears, stains and other blemishes. Semi-leather binding (the leather of the spine and corners is crumbling). Good overall condition. 

Ownership stamps of the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Berlin and stamps of the Etz Chaim Volozhin yeshiva – rare stamp of the Volozhin Yeshiva headed by the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Berlin. In the book, there are several corrections and some sharp glosses handwritten by Rabbi Chaim Berlin who writes, among others: "כל זה טעות…", דין זה נראה ונדחה…", "ומה יענה על…".


 The Gaon Rabbi Chaim Berlin (1832-1913) of Volozhin, the son of the Natziv. Served as the Chief Rabbi of Moskow and as the Rosh Yeshiva of the famed Volozhin Yeshiva. In 1906, he immigrated to Jerusalem and after the passing of Rabbi Shmuel Salant was recognized as the Rav of the Ashkenazic community of Jerusalem although he refused the official position.
