Edited and proofread by the partners Rabbi Yeshaya Vidal and rabbi Mordechai Ventura – Avignon (Southern France) (the printer’s name is missing) 1765. 59 [i.e. .56] leaves. In the National Library, the book appears, of course, in the Rare Book Collection. Stefansky Yesod, Nispach Sha’arei Tefillah, p. 167.
An extremely rare book of an extremely rare printery that printed only few Hebrew books.
Was meant for the communities of Southern France. These communities had a prayer version that was slightly different than other Jewish communities, Ashkenazic and Sephardic alike. This book preserved this rare version of the prayer. (See Hebrew catalog text for examples of the different version).
Healthy, quality paper with especially wide margins. Fine original binding, with a parchment spine, partly blemished. Wine stains on the Haggadah. Some tears to the edges, not affecting the text. Stains. Good overall condition – rare for such books.
