Sefer Torat Yechiel, on Sefer Bereshit, Kabbalistic commentary, by the Gaon Rabbi Yechiel Schlesinger. Published by his son the Gaon Rabbi Akiva Yosef Schlesinger, who was known as the Ivri. First edition – Jerusalem, 1902. [4], 8 pp. 108, [4] leaves. In the National Library, the book appears in the Rare Book Collection.
Old binding, leather spine. Some moth perforations and damage, mainly to the edges. Loose binding. Minor stains. Good overall condition.
On the title page, a signature: "נחמן כהנא חופה"ק א-יוליא – קארילסבורג" indicating this copy was owned by the Admor Rabbi Nachman Kahana of Spinka (1905-1977), the son of the Admor Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Kahana of Spinka, the son-in-law of his uncle Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Rubin the Admor of Sulitzia. Rabbeinu was known as a great Torah scholar and as a pious and modest man. Served as Rav of Karlsburg. After surviving the Holocaust, he served as a Dayan in Klausenburg, dealing with Hatarat Agunot. He immigrated to Israel and served as Rav of Bnei Re’em. Later, he moved to Bnei Berak, established a Beit Midrash and served as the Admor of Spinka. His son and successor was the Admor Rabbi Moshe Elyakim Brieh Kahana.
