Sefer Ahavat David, by Rabbeinu the Chida – Rabbi Chaim Yosef David Azulai, Drushim for Sabbath, Mussar and Mamarei Chazal. With Drushim for Shabbat Zachor, Shabbat Hagadol, Shabbat Kalah, Shabbat Teshuva, which were delivered during the years 1792-1799 in Livorno. At its end, Safah Achat – commentary on the Haggadah and Avotot Ahava – omissions and corrections of Kuntres Ahavat David. Bound with Shiyurei Beracha by the author on Yoreh Deah (printed with Chaim Sha’al by Rabbeinu first edition 1792) – first edition in the author’s lifetime, Livorno 1799. [1], 97; 64 leaves. 31 cm. Moth perforations and damage affecting the text. Stains and some other blemishes. Worn, semi-leather binding. Good overall condition.
On the title page and leaf 1, signatures: "ע"ה הצעיר אבא סירירו ס"ט" – apparently, referring to Rabbi Abba ben Rabbi Yehonatan Serrero, one of the sages of Fes who died in a plague in 1834.
