Chamisha Chumshei Torag (four sections of five) "with Tikkun Sofrim … the commentaries of Rashi, Rashbam, Ibn Ezra, Baal Haturim … and the new Sefer Totzot Chaim … authored by Rabbi Chaim Boskovich…" a commentary that deals with Divrei Mussar based on the Bible.
First edition of this commentary – Amsterdam, 1764. According to the approbation: 1766 and to the colophon (at the end of Megillat Ester): 1777. Stefansky Sifrei Yesod 13 of the appendix. In the National Library, the book appears in the Rare Book Collection. Shemot: 98, 5-9, 4-6, 53-60, 41-43, [1] leaves. Vayikra: 54, [10]-13, 7-10, 12 leaves. Title page of Chamesh Megillot before Shir hashirim. Bamidbar: 69, 14-17, [1], 13-16 leaves. Devarim: 68, [1], 18-42 leaves. At the end of each section, Haftarot and Megillot.
Four volumes with original leather bindings. Scuffed and some of them detached. Stains, Fine margins. Some detached leaves. Good overall condition.
Ancient Ashkenazic notation with the name: "משה פרעגר מפאצדם" and a notation in square script: "מרדכי שיינין בלייפציג".
On 3 of the 4 back flyleaves appears an ancient artistic illustration depicting Aharon and two versions of Moshe – see pictures.
