Start price: $500

Buyer's premium:

Chumash Mikra’ot Gedolot, with a Siddur for Sabbath, with the personal stamp of the Admor Rabbi Reuven Leifer of Grosswardein – Vilna, 1927.

On the title page of the book, the stamp of the Admor: "ראובן לייפער בהרב הצדיק מחוסט שליט"א חונה פה גראסווארדין יצ"ו".

On verso of the title page, a touching notation: "ונקדשתי בתוך בני ישראל פ שמות שנת תרצ"ז פה ווערדיין יע"א רפואות וישועות לנו ולכל ישראל נכתב בדם"!!! (… Parashat Shemot 1937 here in Wardein … Written with blood) – indeed, it can be seen that the notation was written with blood (due to its color). Apparently, it was written by Rabbeinu; however, we did not manage to obtain his script for comparison.

Additional signature on the flyleaf: "הק’ חיים מאיר לייפער".

Binding without the spine and partly detached. Detached leaves. Good condition.

The Admor Rabbi Reuven Leifer of Grosswardein (perished in the Holocaust) the son of the Admor Rabbi Yisrael Yaakov Leifer, the first Admor of Chust and grandson of the Admor Rabbi Mordechai of Nadvorna.
