Lot 170:
Letter by the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Yitzchak Hillman Rosh Av Beit Din of London with reference to the publishing of his series of books, Or Hayashar – London, 1930.
The letter was sent to Rabbi Yisrael Zissel Dvortz, the editor of the religious journal Tevunah and the right-hand-man of the Saba of Slabodka. In his letter, Rabbi Hillman requests that he send him the Chidushei HaRamban that were reprinted. He also apologizes for not sending him his book on Chulin: צר לי מאד אשר ספרי הגדול ע"מ חולין… כבר נמסר לדפוס לדפוס בליטא ונדפסו ע"ע גליונות… אמנם אקווה כי… ידי נטוי’ להדפיס מן המוכן אצלי בעזהי"ת ונראה בל"נ".
Letters and autographs by Rabbeinu are extremely rare!
