Letter by the Assistance Committee of the Union of Rabbis Refugees of Russia, with the handwritten signatures of eight of its rabbis, headed by the Gaon Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer, addressed to Rabbi Meir Bar Ilan – Jerusalem, 1942.
In their letter, the rabbis ask for help for Rabbi Yehoshua Zelig Diskin Av Beit Din of Persliov (the father-in-law of the Gaon Rabbi Gershon Edelstein) who after his immigration to Israel worked as a clerk and was about to be fired.
