Buyer's premium:

Lengthy Halachic Responsum handwritten and signed by the Gaon and Posek Rabbi Yisrael Weltz addressed to the Gaon Rabbi Eliezer yehuda Wakdenberg – Jerusalem, 1957.

The letter indicates the anxiety and caution of these Geonim to be precise with their Psikah. Rabbi Yisrael Woltz’ words imply that he had sent Rabbi Waldenberg a letter disagreeing with a Psak Rabbi Waldenberg had given pertaining to the kashruth of Cognac. Two days later, Rabbi Weltz found a responsum in the book Shut Imrei Yosher supporting Rabbi Waldenberg’s opinion. Rabbeinu harried to send a second letter to Rabbi Waldenberg, telling him about what he had found and ending his letter with the words:  "והדבר מקבל צורה חדשה ויצא לגמרי מתורת חלב יש להתיר כמו שהסיק כבודו, וחשתי ולא התמהמתי להודיעו כדי שתנוח דעתו וכי לא אנה לידו כל אוון בהי"ת".
