Sefer Terumat Hadeshen with Psakim Uchtavim, one of the most well-known halachic books which is used as the source of many customs and is referred to thousands of times in books by varied Poskim. The title of the book refers to the Gematria of the number of responses appearing in its first section – 354 (דש"ן). The second section is titled Psakim Uchtavim. By Rabbi Yisrael Isserles, known as the Terumat HaDeshen after this book, who was a leading Ashkenazic Rav in the 15th century, one of the last Rishonim or first Acharonim. The press of Rabbi Itzak ben Rabbi Leib, Furth 1778. [5], 122; 2-45 leaves. 20 cm. Tears, mainly to the edges. Some blemishes to the text of the last leaf. Stains and aging stains. Good overall condition. New binding. 

On the title page, signatures

"ליב גליא" –  Rabbi Leib Galia – the father of Rabbi Azriel Hildesheimer, a disciple of Rabbeinu Ba’al Hafela’ah.

"חנני ה’ בזה, פייביש פרנקפורט דאדר". – we could not find it to whom this refers. 

An additional ancient signature that was not deciphered:   "… אברהם….?".

On the title page, the foreign stamp of the Gaon Rabbi Azriel Hildesheimer from the time he was Rav of Eisenstadt. On leaf 31b, short glosses handwritten by him and a small correction of a word in another script.

the Gaon Rabbi Dr. Azriel Hildesheimer (1820-1899) a German Rav and leader of Orthodox Jewery in Germany. He was the Rav and Rosh Yeshiva of Eisenstadt and then Berlin, founder of the Rabbinical Beis Midrash in Berlin, a leading disciple of the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Ettlinger (the Aruch LaNer). He received the title “Nasi Eretz Yisrael” for his work on behalf of Russian Jewry and the many yeshivas he established. Among his works: Shut Rabbi Azriel; Chiddushei Rabbi Azriel on the Shas; and more.
