Lot 51:
Kuntres Ohev Shalom – about the dispute between the Siget communities – published by Kehal Adat Yeshurun Sepharadim of Siget – Siget, 1889 – letters by the Admorim of Sanz and more.
Background: The controversy among the Siget communities erupted after the Chareidi community of Siget split in two – Adat Sepharadim and Kehal Ortodoksim. The controversy led to the involvement of many rabbis including the Admor Rabbi Baruch Hager of Vizhnitz, the Imrei Baruch, Rabbi Yitzchak Ittinga of Lemberg, the Natziv of Volozhin and more. Both communities agreed to a Din Torah before Rabbi Baruch of Gorlitz (who was then Rav of Ridnik), the son of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. His Psak favored the Kehal Ortodoksim. Against it, Rabbi Feibel Halevi of Bradshin published a letter supporting the Adat Sepharadim. Both parties published books and Kuntresim in support of their claims.
This Kuntres, Ohen Shalom, was published by the Kehal Sepharadim. The Kunres contains letters of support by the Admor Rabbi Aharon Halberstam of Kreiz, the Admor Rabbi David Halberstam of Kishinev, the Admor Rabbi Shlomo Halberstam of Bobov and more.
