Sefer Shoshanat Yaakov, "elucidating the wisdom of the palm and the wisdom of the face". By Rabbi Yaakov Mordechai of Fulda, residing in Shverin, Poland.
On verso of the title page, an illustration of the palm which does not appear in all copies of this rare and important book – first edition, Amsterdam 1706. [2], 14 leaves.
In several places inside the book, there are handwritten sketches – apparently by the author or someone on his behalf, from the time of printing. See pictures.
Darkened last leaf. Some stains. In 2 pages Cutting [during the printing process?] affecting the lower edge of the text. Some professionally restored moth damage, slightly afffecting the text. Good overall condition. Nice new cover with leather-like spine and corners.
