Lot 15:
Sefer Aseifat Zekenim / Shitah Mekubetzet by Rabbi Bezalel ben Avraham Ashkenazi of Egypt. This book, in which the author compiled novellae by the greatest Rishonim ordered by the leaves of the Shas, "from manuscripts" as noted on the title page, was groundbreaking at the time and became an invaluable asset of the yeshiva world.
First edition, Amsterdam 1721. 221 leaves. In this copy, the last leaf is missing. Stefansky Sifrei Yesod no. 62. In the National Library, the book appears in the Rare Book Collection. Extreemly rare! Appearing on the title page: "עלו על מזבח הדפוס רק חמש מאות ספרים…". (a limited edition of five huindred copies only). Important approbations by the rabbis of Amsterdam.
New binding. Restorations and taping. Moth damage, some of it filled-in. Fair overall condition.
On the title page, Sephardic ownershoip signatures, one of them identified as that of the Dayan Rabbi Yisrael Meir Mizrachi, one of the sages of Jerusalem, author of Shut Pri HaAretz (Jerusalem, 1905).
Many additional Sephardic notations that have not been thoroughly studied.
