Lot 48:
Kuntres Zecher lamikdash – on Mitzvat Hakhel – by Maran Rabbi Eliyahu David Teomim, the Aderet – published anonymously – first edition, Warsaw, 1889.
This edition was published by Rabbi Shimchon Subalsky and his son Yitzchak, who writes on verso of the title page that the author, who wants to remain anonymous, is one of the famed Geonim of our time: "מחבר הספר הזה שאינו רוצה לגלות את שמו הוא אחד מגדולי הגאונים המפורסמים שבזמננו, הספר הזה המברר אחת ממצות התורה שזמנה קבועה במועד שנת השמיטה הוא דבר בעתו…".
The name of the author, Maran the Aderet, was written for the first time in an edition that was published in Jerusalem in 1941.
Extremely rare; to the best of our knowledge, has never appeared in auctions.
On the title page, the signature of Rabbi Shaul Elchanan Shaulzon, the Rav of Neistadt near Ponovezh, and eventually one of the leaders of Kollel Pinsk of Jerusalem and a Dayan of the Beit Din of Rabbi Shmuel Salant.
[1]. 14 leaves.
A small open tear to the last leaf, not affecting the text. Good condition.
Bound with Halacha Mevoreret by Rabbi Teveli Rosenthal, with the signature and stamp of the publisher, his son Rabbi Mordechai Avraham Av li Rosenthal the author of Sefer Pri Mordechai Avraham.
