Lot 261:
Sefer Kreiti UFleiti, on Shulchan Aruch Yoreh Deah by the great Gaon Av Beit Din of the Altona, Hamburg and Wandsbek communities Rabbi Yonasan Eibeschutz. Early edition – Zholkva, with Amsterdam fonts, 1799. 123 leaves.
Late binding. Moth damage and perforations. Stains. Fair overall condition.
On the title page, an interesting ownership notation: "הק’ יעקב יצחק בהרב…." – possibly the handwritten signature of the holy Rav the Admor Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchak of Makarov, has not been ascertained. An additional notation: "הספר הזה קבלתי כמדומני שקבלתיו מהרב ש"ב הר’ אברהם טווערסקי מארעש[/ל] מנחם נחום רבינוביץ". – the Admor Rabbi Menachem nachum Rabinowitz writes that he received the book apparently from Rabbi Avraham twersky – possibly, the son-in-law of the Admor Rabbi Meshulam Zussia Marel who immigrated to Eretz Yisrael. On the back flyleaf, many notations that have not been thoroughly examined. On leaf 48b, an ancient gloss.
The Admor Rabbi Menachem Nachum Rabinowitz (1887-1959) was Av Beit Din of Haifa, and prior to that Rosh Yeshivat Koidinov in Berenowice, son of the Admor Rabbi Pinchas Rabinowitz of Kontikoziva, and grandson of the Admor Rabbi Mordechai Dov of Hornosteipel. He received his Semicha from Rabbi Chaim of Brisk and other rabbis. His Divrei Torah were collected in the book Machshevet Nachum.
