Sefer Chavat Daat on Yoreh Deah, the deep scholarly book by the great Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Lorberbaum of Lisa, the author of Netivot HaMishpat and more. Published in the author’s lifetime – Josefow, , 1827. [1], 72 leaves. Loose, worn binding. Blemished leather spine. Creases and stains. Wide margins. Good overall condition.
On the title page, an ownership notation of the Gaon Rabbi Gershon ben Rabbi Yitzchak Ze’ev Wolf of Pressburg. Rabbi Yitzchak Ze’ev was head of the Shochatim of Pressburg and is even listed in one of the Pinkasim of the Mohalim of Pressburg, where it is written that he was a Mohel with Maran the Chatam Sofer.
In addition, some notations, apparently by some of the students of the Ketav Sofer Yeshiva who had borrowed and used the book.
