The wonderous Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Vinograd (1851-1913) the son of Rabbi Avraham Chaim Vinograd (Rabbi Chaim Matmid) immigrated to Eretz Yisrael in 1884 and settled in Jerusalem, where he established the famed Torat Chaim Yeshiva. Rabbi Yitzchak and his yeshiva were honored even by the Turkish government, which forbade the nearby church to ring its bells so as not to disturb the study of the yeshiva students.
