"ואם עד כה לא תשמעו תהי שחיטתכם אסורה עולמית" Letter by the Rabbis of Chernovich, against the Shochatim and Bodkim of the Poltishan community who dared to fire the local Rav – Chernovich, 1927.
The letter indicates a bizarre story about the Shochatim and Bodkim of the Poltishan community who fired the local Rav "איך שראשי וקציני הקהל חשובי ומנהיגי קהלתכם שיחי’ השליכו אחרי גוום, דברי מורכם ורבכם לזלזל בכבוד ת"ח הרב הגאון אב"ד דקהילתכם שליט"א להפסיק פרנסתו, ולהשליך כבודו ארצה, לבזות ולהשפיל בזה כבוד התורה". The rabbis of Chernovich suggest that the Shochatim and Bodkim come with the Rav to discuss the matter with the rabbis of Chernovich, ending the letter with a warning: "לאמור ולהזהיר אתכם שאסורים אתם לבדוק הריאה, עד שיעמדו למשפט ואם עד כה לא תשמעו תהי שחיטתכם אסורה עולמית, ולא תועיל לכם כל אמתלאות".
