Lengthy letter of Torah novellae, on Gittin matters, by Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Waldenberg author of Tzitz Eliezer, addressed to the Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Yitzchak Halevi Herzog – Jerusalem, 1944.
In his letter, Rabbi Waldenberg praises Rabbi Herzog, uses many superlatives: "הוד כבוד הגאון הגדול פאר ישראל והדרו צדיק יסוד עולם איש האשכולות מרן הרב כקש"ת מוהר"ר יצחק אייזיק הלוי הרצוג שליט"א הרב הראשי לא"י".

Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Waldenberg (1916-2007), author of the Shut Tzitz Eliezer, Shvitat Hayam [the laws of travelling by ship on shabbat] and Hilchot Medina, one of the foremost Poskim of the previous generation, known primarily due to his responsa and extensive knowledge of halacha and medicine. He was a member of the great rabbinic court, received the Israel Prize for religious literature and the Rav Kook Prize.
