Sefer Chayei Avraham, composed of three compositions – the first: on tractates Shabbat, Bava Meyzi’ah, Sanhedrin and Avodah Zarah, and at its end, Likutei HaRambam and novellae on Choshen Mushpat, by Rabbi Avraham ben Yitzchak Tayeb. The second: Derech Chaim on tractates Psachim, Ketubot and Chulin by his son, rabbi Chaim Tayeb. The third: Torat Moshe on some tractates, by Rabbi Moshe Nakash.
First edition – Livorno, 1826. [1], 103 leaves. Detached binding. Leather spine. Detached sheets. Stains. Moth damage in several places. Some moth perforations. Trimmed heading to the last page. Fair-good overall condition.
On the title page, a Sephardic signature indicating that this copy was owned by Rabbi David Hacohen Skalli (1862-1949) who was born in Debdou, the city of priests of Morocco. Kabbalist, Dayan and Av Beit Din of Orna, Algeria. Author of Shut Kiryat Chanah David, Lecha Davud, Ledavid Baruch and more. Corresponded on halachic matters with the rabbis of Eretz Yisrael and printed his books in Jerusalem.
On the flyleaves, his (blurred) stamps and inside the book, Sephardic comments on the margins, apparently handwritten by him.
