Lot 1:
Rabbeinu Asher on Halachot Ktanot – the book by Rabbeinu Asher ben Rabbi Yechiel of Paris, one of the Rishonim, known as the Rosh. Printed as a volume in itself, as part of the famed first edition of the complete Shas "by Dabiel Bomberg in 1522 here in Venice".
This edition from the early days of printing is indeed considered a foundation stone of the format of the leaf and pagination. It is also almost completely clean from the censor intervention. 15 leaves. Stefansky Siferi Yesod no. 41.
In the National Library, the book appears, of course, alongside the other volumes of the Shas, in the Rare Book Collection. New, elegant binding. Bright, healthy paper in good condition. Restored, true to the original, title page. Professional restoration throughout the book. Filled-in moth damage.
Chidushei HaRosh on the tractates of the Shas is a most important work that was accepted as one of the foundations of Halachic ruling.
