Letter with interesting and fascinating content, handwritten and signed by the great Gaon Rabbi Yisrael Woltz Av Beit Din of Budapest, addressed to the Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda waldenberg – Jerusalem, 1961.
In the letter, Rabbi Woltz asks Rabbi waldenberg his opinion on whether a handwritten Pledge of Allegiance submitted to an Israeli court is considred an oath: "וכעת העורך דין דוחק עלי שנחוץ לו מאד גם מצד החתימתי בעניין נכדי הילד שדינו כעת בבית המשפט גבוה לצדק, כידוע למעכ"ה, ולעת כזאת לא מצאתי בספרים היתר בפי’ ואמרתי נא מכבודו לחוות לי דעתו הרמה בהקדם האפשרי"
We have not found reference to this affair in the biography of the Gaon.

The Gaon Rabbi Yisrael Woltz (1887-1974) a disicple of the author of the Shevet Sofer in Pressburg, Rosh Av Beit Din of Budapest until the Holocaust and then a Moreh Hora’ah in Jerusalem. One of the founders of Otzar Haposkim, author of Shut Diveru Yisrael 3 sections and was famed as Matir Agunot after the Holocaust. Was buried near the holy garvesite of the Admor Rabbi Aharon of Belz.
