Lot 248:
"יודיענו בטובו למען להגדיל ספרותינו וחכמותינו" Letter handwritten and signed by Av Beit Din of Husiatyn Rabbi Yitzchak Frankel with a request for information about the books printed at a printery he owned – Husiatyn, 1902.
The letter was sent to Rabbi Chaim Brody, the Rav of Prague and in it Rabbeinu expresses his gratitude to Rabbi Brody for his book and informs him about new books that were printed at the printery he owned and were sent in exchange. Rabbi Frankel also asks Rabbi Brody, who was a fertile scholar and writer, for varied details he did not have in the word of the Geonim.

The Chassid Gaon Rabbi David Frankel Av Beit Din of Husiatyn (1876-1948) a Gaon, editor of many Sifrei Rishonim and author of important biography books. Founded, alongside his brother-in-law Rabbi Lipa Schvager, the Dovev Siftei Yeshenim publishing house as a countermeasure to the Mekitzei Niradmim publishing house of the Enlightenment Movement. With the outbreak of World War II he immigrated to the USA where he passed away in 1948.
