Sefer Rosh Yosef on Maamarei Chazal in halacha and Aggadah, “from all the masechtot of Shas”, with pilpulim and drush, by Rabbi Yosef ben Rabbi Yaakov (of Pintchov; he was Av Beit Din in Selz, Lithuania, and then in Tykocin. He was grandson and great-grandson of Rabbi Yaakov Faulk).

First edition in the author’s lifetime. Only four books were ever printed at this printery! (See Friedberg, History of Hebrew Printing, 1937, p. 76). [1], 67 leaves. In the National Library, the book appears in the Rare Book Collection. Many approbations by rabbis of the period from Lithuania, Moravia, and Ashkenaz. Some moth perforations. Stains. Good overall condition. Worn, semi-leather binding. 

On the title page, a stamp: “Ben Zion ben Rav Moharar Yaakov Ettlinger”— Rabbi Dr. Ben Zion Ettlinger, son of the gaon Rabbi Yaakov Ettlinger, Av Beit Din of Altona (author of the work Aruch Laner and more). He was son-in-law of Rabbi Shmaryahu Zuckerman of Mogilev.
