Volume with the compositions by the sharp Gaon Rabbi Uziel Meishlish of Ritshval and Ostrovtza, a disciple of the holy Besht and the Maggid of Mezeritch. Both published by the author’s nephew Rabbi Nathan Meir Meislish. 

1. Sefer Etz Hada’at Tov, on tractate Ketubot, first edition – Warsaw, 1863. 61 leaves. Stefansky Chassidut 468. The last leaf is a photocopy. Approbations by the rabbis of Warsaw and Lublin and the Admorim of Poland: the Chidushei HaRim of Ger, Rabbi Yaakov David of Amshinov, Rabbi Yaakov Aryeh of Radzimin, Rabbi Leibel Eiger of Lublin. A nice poem after a lengthy foreword by the aforementioned publisher. 

2. Sefer Tiferet Uziel "titled Etz Hada’at Tov", Drushim and proverbs on verses of Nevi’im and Ketuvim and Chamesh Megillot and the Aggadot of the Sages. First edition – Warsaw, 1863. [According to the title page, the year is תרכ"ב [!], which of course unreasonable since the Gregorian year is 1863. Indeed, the date of the approbations is תרכ"ג. originally, [5], 7-53. In this copy, 2 leaves at the beginning and leaf 9 are missing. Stefansky Chassidut 636. Appearing beneath the heading "Approbations by the Geonim and tzaddikim of Estreich" are the approbations of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz, Rabbi Shimon Sofer of Krakow, Rabbi Yosef Shaul Nathanson of Lvov, and more.  

New binding, with moth perforations. Moth perforations inside the book. Good overall condition. 

The Gaon author Rabbi Uziel Meishlish (1744-1786) the son of Rabbi Zvi, was one of the important disciples of the holy Besht. After his passing, he followed, like many other disciples, the Maggid of Mezeritch and by his order authored the book Tiferet Uziel. He was also one of the first distributors of Chassidut in Poland. 

On the title page of his composition on tractate Shabbat (Lemberg, 1886), it was written about him: "היה מוסמך מכל הגאונים והצדיקים… והיו חרדים לשמוע קול דבריו… עמיתו וחבירו של הגאון הקדוש בעל הפלאה ואחיו הגאון הקדוש רבי שמעלקא [מניקלשבורג] והגאון הקדוש רבי אלימלך מליז’ענסק, רבי זושא מאניפולי ורבי לוי יצחק מברדיטשוב… והעידו כולם עליו שלא טעם טעם חטא מעולם וקרא לו בשם הנאה לו והוא נאה לשמו ‘עבד ד” כי עבד נוטריקון ‘עוזיאל בן דרעזיל’…".
