Buyer's premium:

Tur Yoreh Deah with Beit Yosef, Darkei Moshe and more. The press of the famed holy Rav Rabbi Moshe Shapira in Slavuta, [1816]. 146: [1], 216 leaves.

Moth perforations and some moth damage. Stains including some mold stains. Some other blemishes. No binding. Good-fair overall condition.

Many notations on the flyleaf, including varied ownership signatures and handwritten Divrei Torah. Short glosses throughout the book by two different writers, maybe by some of the owners. The following were identified: "הק’ חיים דוב בהרב הגאון מוהר"ר משה ני’ בערינבלום" – the son of the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Bernblum Av Beit Din of Constantine Yashan who was a famed Tzaddik in the generation of the disciples of the holy Besht and who approbated several Chassidic books, the most well-known of them being Or Pnei Moshe by the holy Rav of Pshevorsk and Sefer Ma’asseh Roke’ach, whose grandson was the son-in-law of Rabbi Moshe. Possibly, the glosses are by the son or maybe even the father, the above holy Rav. Additional support for this can be seen in a notation on the lower part of the flyleaf: "תקפ"ד לפ"ק ווישנאוויץ".

On verso of the title page, a notation: "לזכרון נשמת חוה… שארפשטיין שנת תרפ"ז מאסקווע ביהמ"ד דליובאוויטש" – a donation of the book to the Chabad synagogue of Moscow in the years of Communism!
