Letter with a halachic responsum about heating dishes on Sabbath with a lamp, handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Pinchas Rimalt Av Beit Din of Zholkva, addressed to Rabbi Chaim Brody Av Beit Din of Prague. Written in the midst of World War I – Wien, 1905. 

"אתכבד בזה להקריב תודה רבה לכבוד הדרת גאונו… קוטב המדינה מבני היקר צורבא דרבנן ודחיל חטאין דוד רימאלט יחי‘" At the beginning of his letter, Rebbeinu thanks Rabbi Brody for assisting his son Rabbi David Rimalt during his stay in Prague during the war. 

"והנה לא אוכל להמנע מלקיים אשר.. מכבוד אבי… כי על כל ברכה ותהלה יאות לחבב יקרא דאוריתא" Here Rabbeinu writes a halachic responsum in answer to a question on Hilchot Shabbat he had received when he was staying in Wien (Vienna) during World War I  "היות שנתחדש תקנתא לאטמנא מיכלא דשבתא בתיבותא תחת לאמפא"

Rare. So far has not been seen in auctions.

The Gaon Rabbi Pinchas Rimalt (1855-1934) the son of Rabbi Elimelech Shimon Rimalt Av Beit Din of Chirov. Served as Rav in Sohl, Chirov and eventually, Zholkva. During World War I, he escaped to Wien and later to New York, where he served as Rav of the Zholkva community. Eventually, he returned to Zholkva and served again as Av Beit Din until his passing. Used to travel every week to the Admor Rabbi Uri of Sambor and was a source of Shmu’ot by his Rav. A response to him was printed in Shut Avnei Tzedek by the Yitav Lev.
