Lot 129:
"ומקווים אנחנו לבוא למארינבאד" (we are hoping to come to Marienbad) Lengthy letter handwritten and signed by the great Gaon Rabbi Zelig Reuven Bengis Rosh Av Beit Din of HaEdah HaChareidit, with references to the large congress in Marienbad and his trip to Eretz Yisrael to Served as Rosh Av Beit Din – Kalwaria, 1937.
"וביחוד לידידי ורעי וידיד נפשי הגאון האדיר וכו’ מוהרצ"י דושנסקיא" The letter was sent to the leader of Agudat Yisrael Rabbi Moshe Blau. In the letter, Rabbeinu discusses the arrangements for his trip to Eretz Yisrael and informs that he is about to participate in the large congress of Agudat Yisrael in Marienbad. Rabbi Bengis ends his letter with blessings to the members of the Badatz HaEdah HaChareidit: "והנני חותם בברכת שלמא רבא למר ולכל הני מרנן ורבנן ואנשי השם הנמצאים אתו שם במלאכת סגל חבורה וביחוד לידידי ורעי וידיד נפשי הגאון האדיר וכו’ מוהרצ"י דושנסקיא שליט"א ד’ יצליח דרכם להרים קרן התורה להגדילה ולהאדירה"
It should be noted that Rabbeinu signed his name "זעליג ראובן בענגיס ראב"ד לעדת החרדים בירושלים עיה"ק תובב"א" although he was then still the Av Beit Din of Kalwaria and reached Jerusalem only in 1938. A special historical item telling the story of the HaEdah HaChareidit in general and Rabbi Bengis in particular.

The Gaon Rabbi Zelig Reuven Bengis (1864-1953) served as Rav in Kalwaria, Belarus and then as Gaon Av Beit Din of the Charedi community in Jerusalem. He authored LiPalgut Reuven and more. Among his disciples were Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach and Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv.
Was a famed Gaon. It is told that his in-law wanted to know whether all that was said of him was true so he sent a letter to the Rav of the Kollel, Rabbi Yaakov Yosef, who was then living in Vilna and who replied: "ולדעתי יהיה מגאוני הזמן – ויתר הדברים אוכל להודיעו כי בפה ווילנא היו רוצים בו גדולי הרבנים דפה".
