Lot 127:
"ובכדי שיהא משמר יוצא ומשמר נכנס הנני מוצא חובה בנפשי להודיע זאת" Letter announcing the resignation of the Rosh Av Beit Din Rabbi Mordechai Leib Rubin, addressed to Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnefeld – Jerusalem, 1926.
In his letter, Rabbi Rubin writes to Maran Rabbi Sonnenfeld that he intends to resign his position as Rosh Av Beit Din and focus on teaching "סבות שונות מכריחים אותי להתפטר מלעבוד עוד בהבד"צ ועלי להסתפק בעבודת ההוראה". To the best of our knowledge, his resignation did not fall through and he served as Rosh Av Beit Din until his passing in 1929.

The great Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Leib Rubin Rosh Av Beit Din of HaEdah HaChareidit (1871-1929) studied at the Slobodka yeshiva of Lithuania and was considred a prodigy. In 1891, he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael, where he served first as Rav of Ekron and later as the Rav of the Yemin Moshe neighborhood of Jerusalem. In 1924, he was appointed Rosh Av Beit Din of HaEdah HaChareidit of Jerusalem.
