Lot 49:
Sefer Shenot Chaim "containing the Dinim and customs which are more needed according to the Psakim of the Ari and Maran the Beit Yosef and the Chida and the Sephardic custom", authored by the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Chaim Mendelau (after his father Menachem Mendel) Na’eh when he was living in Na-Amun (on the bank of the Nile, Thebes of today). Translated into Arabic and printed in Hebrew and Judeo-Arabic on facing columns. In addition, on the lower part of the pages, the author noted his halachic sources, titling them ‘Mekor Chaim’.
First ediiton, Jerusalem, 1921. [4], 129, [3] leaves. In the National Library, the book appears in the Rare Book Collection. Approbations by the rabbis of Jerusalem: the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld and the Rishon LeZion Rabbi Chaim Moshe Elyashar. At its beginning, 3 pages and at its end an additional page containing a list of people who assisted in the printing of the book from Alexandria and Cairo.
Ancient detached binding. Blemished spine. Stains. Some moth damage on the edge of a group of leaves. Good overall condition.
