Lot 106:
Typewritten letter on official letterhead, from the 15th of Elul 1953. Yiddish.
Loosely translated, the Rebbe instructs to follow the doctor’s orders regarding one’s sleeping hours and do it and keep on studying and observing the Mitzvot during the day until you get better and then you can add more of this.
About fasting, a Rav should be asked and told the doctor’s instructions and act as he says.
At its end, the Rebbe does not forget the person’s spirituality reminding him of the three known Shi’urim of the Chumash, Tehillim and Tanya. He ends with his bessing: "און השי"ת זאל דיר מצליח זיין".
Signed by the Rebbe’s secretary Rabbi Eliyahu Quint "on behalf of the Admor Shalita". Famously, many letters that were signed by the Rebbe’s secretary were actually by the Rebbe himself.
