Buyer's premium:

Typewritten letter on the official letterhead of Rabbi Yechezkel Feigin "secretary of the Admor Shalita of Lubavitch", the secretary of the Rebbe Rayatz, sent from Warsaw on the 16th of Kislev 1934. Addressed to Rabbi Menachem Mendel Kupershtock – the Chassidic Rav of Glebokie.

The letter deals with the figure of the person who is supposed to replace Rabbi Kupershtock as the Chassidic Rav of Glebokie before his departure to the Land of Israel. Rabbi Kupershtock invested a lot of money in the place and the Rav replacing him was required to repay him. The secretary writes to him about "Rabbi Y. Mendelbaum" as a possible candidate for the position. Despite his hesitation, he has agreed to visit the city "והוא בהיותו על אתר ועט עם אפשר אן נעמען מער חשק" [אולי יתפוס אותו יותר חשק]." The secretary also notes that he has spoken clearly about repaying Rabbi Kupershtock:  "רק אמרתי לו שבדברו מזה עם כבודו יהי’ שלא בפני הבעלי בתים" and asks Rabbi Kupershtock to think of a reasonable amount of money. At the end of the letter, the loyal secretary promises to make an effort not to accept someone unless he agrees to repay Rabbi Kupershtock. He then signs his name: "Yechezkel Feigin".
