Important letter on halachic matters and family matters, handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Wolf Zussman-Sofer, the author of Chalifot Simlat Binyamin, a disciple of the Chasam Sofer and the Ketav Sofer. Addressed to his son-in-law. Budapest, Thursday Parashas Vayishlach, 1887.
Appearing in the letter is guidance on varied matters, community regulations, how to write the name of the addressee’s city on a Gett, Piskei Halacha pertaining to the Mikveh, and guidance on how to learn Torah.
Later, he refers to Rabbi Yaakov Leib Strasser, the Ketav Sofer’s son-in-law:
"The aforementioned told me that the Tzaddik Rabbi Yaakov Leib Katz Strasser wanted to give him his daughter".
At the end of the letter, Rabbeinu
added 10 lines and his signature. These lines were written to his daughter the Rebbetzin, the wife of his above son-in-law.

The Gaon Rabbi Binyamin Zeev Wolf Zussman-Sofer (1826-1898) the son of Rabbi David Zvi. In his youth, he studied for a short time with the Chasam Sofer and then with his son the Ketav Sofer. He also studied for five years with the Maharam Schik. Served
as Av Beis Din of several towns in Hungary and was Rav of the Chevras Shas in Budapest. Authored the book Chalifot Simlat Binyamin on the Passover Haggadah and on the Torah.
