Letter of recommendation for the support of wedding expenses of a bachur “very exceptional in Torah and Yirat Shamayim”, handwritten and signed by the Tzaddik Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Kanievsky, the Steipler (author of the Kehilot Yaakov), a leader of the Lithuanian community in Israel, brother-in-law of the Chazon Ish and father of Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky.


With warm words the author describes the situation: “…I request that you come to his aid so that he may build his home as a bayit ne’eman on the Torah and his avodah”.

Then he blesses: “All who are merciful shall have mercy from Heaven to be blessed doubly in ruchniyus and gashmiyus and the principal will be safeguarded and … for the honor and Torah and the holy mitzvah and to be safeguarded from lack, looking forward to Heaven’s mercy and a complete redemption…”

At the top of the page is his official stamp. Approx. 13x19cm. Blue ink. On the back is a photocopied section from another letter. Good condition.
