"But this is said only by the stubborn" A postcard with responses to the claims about the forgery of the Yerushalmi, handwritten by the Jerusalem forger of the Yerushalmi Kodashim – Rabbi Shlomo Friedlander, addressed to Rabbi Chaim Brofy – Satmar, 1910.

Apparently, Rabbi Chaim Brody, who was a scholar and manuscript expert, made claims to Rabbi Friedlander about the authneticity of the manuscripts on which he relied. In his response letter to Rabbi Brody, Rabbi Friedlander writes "that the fear of a forgery shall not be removed even if the manuscript was ancient… if it was forged now or seven hundred years ago? But this is said only by the stubborn… since the Rosh Av Beis Din relied on the Yerushalmi Menachot … since the Yerushalmi Beitza implies to the Yerushalmi Bechoros which was not found elsewhere in the Yerushalmi, can we say it is a forgery – all that I told in the introduction was what I know, and what I do not know I cannot confirm and by G-d’s will, he will receive a lengthy reply from me…"

The postcard is written in Oriental sxript and signed "Shlomo Yehuda S.T", another one of the charachteristics of the strange Gaon Rabbi Shlomo friedlander, the Jerusalem forger, who used to write alternately in Ashkenazic and Oriental script.
