"מה שלא כתבתי מהחתונה של נכדתי תח’ כי יש לי בושה לכתוב תרוצים" A letter with extreme expressions of modesty, handwritten entirely by the Admor Rabbi Itzikel of Pshevorsk, addressed to the Iiportant Rav Rabbi Yoel Ashkenazi, the grandson of Ba’al Yessod HaAvodah and an important Slonim Chassid of Tiberias.  

In the letter, Rabbeinu refers to Rabbi Ashkenazi fondly: "הרב הגדול בתוה"ק ובחסידות וביראת השי"ת חוטר מגזע תרשישים וקדושים כקש"ת מוהר"ר יואל שליט"א בן סאשע… עתה באתי בבקשתי אשר כ"ק שליט"א…. ויתפלל כ"ק שליט"א בעדי ובעד ב"ב שיחי"

 

He aplogizes for forgetting to send him an invitation to his granddaughter’s wedding " "עתה באתי בבקשתי אשר כ"ק שליט"א יקיים בי מאמר חז"ל הוי זן את כל האדם לכף זכות גם אנכי בכלל כל האדם מה שלא כתבתי לכ"ק שליט"א מהחתונה של נכדתי תחי’ כי יש לי בושה לכתוב תרוצים על זה…. כי אין לשער טרדתי לפני החתונה ועד כעת".

He also asks Rabbi Ashkenazi to pray for him and his family members "כי אנחנו צריכים לרפ"ש בגו"נ ולרחמי שמים בכמה עניינים בכלל ישראל" and adds his famed signature "הק’ משה יצחק נכד רבן של כל ישראל ר"ר אלימלך זצוקללה"ה זכותו יגן עלינו ועל כל בית ישראל אמן"

The Admor Rabbi Moshe Yitzchak Gvirtzman – Rabbi Itzikel of Pshevorsk (1882-1977) the founder of the Pshevorsk Chassidut and its first Admor in Antwerp, Belgium. A descendant of Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk. Was famed for his sanctity, Prishut and charity. From all around the world, Jews came to him for blessing and salvation and wonders and Ruach Hakodesh were common in his court. It is common knowledge that people who were wanted by the government and could not leave the country would be given by the Admor a Kuntres Zmirot Shabbas, which looked like a passport. They used it to leaves the country and were never detained. 

Rabbi Yoel Ashkenazi (1884-1970) married the daughter of Rabbi Noah Weinberg, the grandson of Ba’al Yessod HaAvodah of Slonim and settled in Tiberias. Was an important and enthusiastic Slonim Chassid in the city.
