Stefanski Chassidut 506. Missing the last leaf with the table of errors. No binding, worming damage, stains. Page cuttings not uniform in terms of height. Overall fair condition.


Rare variant with 2 versions of the first leaf of Parshat Bereishit, with changes in phrasing from the author regarding those opposed to the Chassidic view of the kavanot of the Ari. One version states: “The opinion of a few … it is nonsense and empty and a stupid idea”, while the other (more common in the circulating copies, probably from the publisher or the printers) states “The idea of a few who say ma lanu…truly this idea is not based in the true kabbalah of the Ari which he received from Eliyahu…”

The author, Rahak Rabbi Noach of Karov (1794-1855) was the Chassidic Admor in Karov (5th generation of chassidus). He was a young student of the Chozeh of Lublin, a student of Rabbi Shmuel of Karov, and even after becoming Admor in 1841 he continued to travel to his rabbi the Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Kotzk.
