Sefer Chatam Sofer, chiddushim and halachot on Masechet Chulin, by the great Rabbeinu Moshe Sofer…published from a manuscript by his grandson Rabbi Shlomo Alexandrei Sofer of Seret. Foundational work. [6], 72 leaves. A few stains. Binding appears original, no spine. Overall very good condition.

The back of the title page has the publisher’s stamp—Rabbi Shlomo Alexandrei Sofer of Seret (1857-1924) was the grandson of the Chatam Sofer and son of Rabbi Shimon Sofer, Rabbi of Krakow. He resided in Seret (Bukovina), where his father-in-law lived (the naggid Rabbi Moshe Wax, who supported him, which is why he didn’t need a rabbinical position). He was the father-in-law of Rabbi Yosef Naftali Stern, with whom he gathered many manuscripts from his grandfather and his descendants.
