The title page has a handwritten dedication in pretty sofer script: “a gift sent to the Rav Gaon Moharar Shmuel Salant, from the gvir Yitzhak Bunan, in Tunis, by the young Masoud Chai ben Shimon ben HaRahak David ben Shimon s”t.”

Rabbi Masoud Chai ben Shimon (1869-1925) was the son of the Dvash Rabbi David ben Shimon. He served as Chief Rabbi of Egypt, authored Shem Chadash on names of gittin.
