Amsterdam Nachat: Sefer Pane’ach Raza, a kabbalistic commentary on the Torah by Rabbi Yitzhak ben Yehuda HaLevi. Second edition
Kabbalistic chiddushim on the Torah. Amongst chassidim the year of this book’s printing is important because the Besht was born that year.
The book’s title page states: “This book was printed once before close to 100 years ago, and for that reason no copies can be found in this city nor two in the entire country.” Decorated with approbations from the Sefardi and Ashkenazi Chief Rabbis of Amsterdam, including one from the greatest opponent of Sabbateanism, Rabbi Yaakov Sasportas of Amsterdam.
Long note of ownership on the title page, antique and appears to match the era of the book’s printing. Not checked thoroughly.
[2], 66 leaves. Stains on the title page and last leaf, a few bits of worming damage, good condition.
