Printed by Yisrael Mondovi, Amsterdam 1765. [3], 72 leaves.
Catalogued at the NLI Rare Books section. Approbation of Rabbi Shlomo Shalem of Amsterdam. Antique leather binding—detached, without spine, lone leaves detached, tears, stains, and creases, worming holes and damage, overall poor to fair condition.
The binding has a gilded inscription: “
the young Zerachya Yehuda Azoulay and my son Chida”—that means this copy was held at the shared library of Rabbi Yehuda Zerachya Azoulay (son of Rabbi Moshe, d. 1871) and his son. Born in Marrakesh (Morocco), in 1812 he moved to Jerusalem. His first wife was from the Ashkenazi, Chabad Chassidic community of the city, the daughter of Rabbi Aharon Yafeh of Brisk. His son from this marriage was named after his grandfather, the Chida—that is the Chida mentioned in the inscription. When he was on shlichut in Livorno in 1818 he printed the 5th section of the Shut Radbaz (Arzei HaLevanon 804).
