Printed by the brothers Moshe and Yisrael Palagi, together with Shlomo Bilforti. Livorno 1849. 132 leaves. Catalogued in the NLI’s Rare Books section. On leaf 56b, there appears:
“Seder Chuppah practiced by the Shingili community”, including the 7 days of festivities with Shabbos and minhagim and zmirot practiced there (Shingili = Kodungallur, a city in the Karala state of southwestern India, on the Malabar coast. The Shingili community was a very ancient community and very little is known about their leaders or traditions. Already by the 16th century they had moved to the adjacent Cochin; they are one of the sources of the well-known Cochin community). This text is therefore rare documentation of their wedding traditions.

Detached sheets, front binding detached, no spine, yellow page cuttings, well-preserved copy in excellent condition.
