Tosefta organized according to the mishnayot, with the Perush Higayon Aryeh by Rabbi Aryeh Schwartz, Av Beit Din of Karlsruhe. First part of Zra’im. First edition, Vilna 1890. Xxxvi, 430, [1] pages. Additional title pages in Latin and Russian. With a “general introduction”, indices (for the verses, plants and trees, difficult and foreign words, towns and villages), and a special introduction for each masechet.
In the first introduction, the author has strongly worded criticism of Shlomo Friedlander (see below), author of the commentary “Cheshek Shlomo” on the Mishnayot, and proves the latter’s lack of basic understanding—in practice, he alighted (relatively early) upon the latter’s being a fake. Friedlander did not take the critique lightly, penning a defence called “Kesher Bogdim” against Rabbi Aryeh Schwartz.
Bound with the Tosefta with the commentary “Cheshek Shlomo” by the well-known forger/faker Shlomo Leib Friedlander, who became most famous for his forging of the Yerushalmi on Kodshim. This is Seder Nashim, Pressburg 1890. 17, [1], 248 pages in the original—this copy ends with p. 236. Maybe also missing a leaf from the beginning.
