Letter handwritten and signed by the kabbalist Rabbi Yisrael Eliyahu Weintraub, a leader of the Lithuanian community in Israel, to Rabbi Chaim Katznelbeugen, a leader of Neturei Karta.
He tells Rav Katznelbeugen that he received money to give to a talmid chacham before Sukkot so that he could buy what he needs for the chag. He writes strict rules regarding the giving of the money: “The check will be given to two avrechim and the dollars will be given to four avrechim…following the stipulations detailed here”. It should be noted that gedolim have always been the conduit between donors giving money and bochrim receiving it to enable their study.

The gaon kabbalist Rabbi Yisrael Eliyahu Weintraub (1932-2010) was a leading figure in the Lithuanian movement of ourtime, and was known as a great tzaddik. He was a zealot and a fighter of God’s wars in everything holy, hundreds of students would gather at his classes and to this day continue to print the words of his Torah. He authored many books in his lifetime, including Or HaNer, HaTekufah b’Se’arat Eliyahu, Nefesh Eliyahu and many more… His book Igrot Da’at is a faithful source of the Torah view on various matters and was eagerly followed by the religious public.
