Lot 149:
Letter from the Vaad HaShmita to the Eida, signed by Rabbi Naftali Halberstam, the Admor of Tchokowa, and Rabbi Avraham Chaim Rata. The letter is addressed to Rabbi David Frankel, a talmid muvhak of the Chazon Ish and a leading figure in Bnei Brak.
The letter content is interesting and comes in reply to phone call from Rav Frankel alerting them to the sale of shviit produce that had arrived in Jerusalem. In the letter, the Eida’s rabbis say: “We hereby notify you that we carried out a thorough investigation…and it appears that we were not involved.” Later, the rabbis encourage Rav Frankel to keep a watchful eye anytime he has any suspicions.
Original letter on the relationship between the Vaad Kashrut of the Eida and the kashrut systems of Bnei Brak. 17x12cm. Creases, light tears without missing part of page, good condition.
