Lot 082:
Sefer Kaf HaChaim, part 1, the first volume from the famous work by Rabbi Yaakov Chaim Sofer of Babylon and Jerusalem.
This edition is extremely rare since it was printed without the Shulchan Aruch, as a result of the author’s modesty in not wishing to appear on the same page as Maran the Shulchan Aruch, but it was later printed together after various causes, including the influential people who funded the printing and who explained to the author that, if it didn’t appear on the same page, people wouldn’t study this work (such as happened to other works). Since, the work has been printed in several editions and has even been called “the Sefardi Mishnah Brurah”.
First edition, Jerusalem 1905. [2], 36 leaves. Pink jacket. Stefanski Sifrei Yesod 194. Binding and indices are detached, illustrations of holy places, stains, overall good condition.
The jacket has a note of ownership in Mizrahi script: “Zion Azoulay.”
